We had a lovely 1 night stay here for my husbands birthday (chocs in the fridge were a lovely touch) The hut is set in the most beautiful spot overlooking the moors and sea, perfect to unwind and relax. The horses you are surrounded by are lovely and friendly and great fun to watch them galloping in the fields. We unfortunately didn't get the sunset because of clouds but could imagine how stunning it would be to sit on the hut and watch it go down over the sea. We enjoyed our stay here overall, thank you Pauline and Doug!

We had such a great stay in this absolutely idyllic and stunning location, such a wonderful getaway, gorgeous surroundings +complete silence once there, literally just the sound of birds. The cottage was cosy+had everything we needed, WiFi was excellent which was great with teens! But mostly they loved the animals, especially the friendly pigs wiggley+twiggly who won’t be forgotten anytime soon! Our dog loved the play barn too+we appreciated the token of being able to have a session for free. Also the enclosed grassed garden was perfect for letting dogs have roam around freely. The fresh eggs +cream tea on arrival was also very welcome after a long drive! Overall if looking for a peaceful getaway but close to fab places in North Devon+dog walks right on your doorstep I would highly recommend a stay here.

What a gem of a place. We have had a lovely few days in swallow cottage, our 4 year old loved being there with all the animals. The pictures don’t do the place justice, it’s a super space and Pauline is a great host. Thanks for letting us help collect the eggs! There’s loads to do really nearby. We will be back!

Simply outstanding — restorative, peaceful, and full of magic. From start to finish, Pauline’s shepherd’s hut was a joy. If you’re scrolling through listings wondering where to stay — stop now. You’ve found the one. We could easily have stayed forever, yet somehow didn’t mind leaving. That’s how gorgeous this place is — it gives so much that heading home felt calm, not sad. Everything is just as Pauline describes — and more. You can lie in bed and watch the sea shimmer in the distance. Start your morning with fresh eggs from her hens. Shower outdoors with a view sweeping down the meadow to the sea. Red kites and greenfinches overhead, butterflies drifting by… it’s a world apart. We stayed three nights and managed to both do a lot and absolutely nothing. We cooked on the fire pit (I prepped, my son cooked — he even built a spit!). The hut itself is cosy and beautifully made. Unique location with sea view, animal lover paradise, friendly and helpful host. Serene and quiet surroundings. Well-equipped cottage with basic kitchen ingredients present such as coffee, sugar, salt, pepper. Fresh farm eggs and scones were a nice extra touch.

Swallow Cottage had one of the most beautiful settings I've ever stayed in. It looks out across rolling fields of green pasture to the sea beyond Lynmouth. At it's back is Exmoor and overhead are the clearest skies. Our host was very friendly and welcoming and happy to answer any queries. We took our 10 month old lurcher puppy with us and he had a good sized dig-safe garden to run about in and exploor. We didn’t use the doggy play barn but peeped through the door and it looked fantastic. The beds and the cottage were comfortable and the bathroom has both bathtub and shower. We really enjoyed our stay and I think this cottage was an amazing find. Would definitely go back again.

4 night stay over the Easter half term. 2x adults, 2x children (4 & 7 yrs) and our large dog! Small enclosed and secure garden. Inside lovely and cosy, clean and warm. Pauline’s place is a working farm, with dogs, chickens and the 2x pet pigs free roaming, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Also loads of horses and the inside doggy play barn. The views are stunning in every direction, and it is very quiet and peaceful up on the moors. Very close to Lynton beach, and plenty of dog friendly pubs to eat. Pauline and her husband are lovely people and great hosts, who could not have been anymore accommodating. I highly recommend Pauline’s place, and we are all looking forward to a return visit. Thank you both for a great Easter trip away. The kids will forever be talking about piggly and wiggly.

What a beautiful spot! Swift Cottage was lovely, set in beautiful Exmoor countryside. So peaceful with sea views from the garden. Perfect for dog walking, we had three between us and they had a great time with walks straight out of the farm gate on to the moor. The pretty cottage had everything we needed & location was great for touring. Thank you very much, we had a great time & hope to return soon.

The place was in a beautiful Location was absolutely perfect. Loved seeing the pigs wandering around and the chickens. Clean extremely comfortable and everything we needed. Fantastic weekend away.

What a little gem. Tucked away on the edge of the moor with great views. Extremely peaceful then we could run madly in the doggy barn. Highly recommend.

Pauline & Doug have a great farm, and are fantastic hosts. Our dog loved the agility barn, It was lovely to see the animals, and our daughter really enjoyed the pigs roaming around. would highly recommend, and will certainly be back to stay again.

We had a wonderful short break at Pauline's place. The cottage itself was clean warm and cosy and we had everything we needed. The contained garden was fantastic for the kids and the dog and the view was lovely. The kids loved the animals and our dog loved playing in the doggy barn. We would love to return another time 😊
